![]() ![]() I don't know if it is the new T-stat that is not opening up (which is brand new GM part) (Also terrible to get to on back of the engine) or if the water pump needs replaced. The water is just not flowing the way it should be. I believe the system isn't flowing right and is just allowing the engine to heat up. Whenever I try to bleed out the coolant for air it starts coming out all together. Next day I flushed the cleaner and rinsed it out again, then replaced my T-stat housing and put new coolant in. BTW, there are a couple TSBs on non-working temp gauges for Chevy Colorados. You also have to drain coolant to below the sensor. To remove it you need a special tool, 'J 45861', basically just a plastic sleeve that fits over it to turn it without damaging it. The one with the larger cap on top, the one with the dexcool labeled small cap under. the second pic is the three tanks I can see. The first picture shows two caps, one says dex-cool but is the size of a pencil and aft of the main reservoir cap that actually has coolant in it. ![]() At work I put more water into the system and made it home without overheating again.
